Malai Chomchom
Malai chomchom originated in Porabari, a small town in Tangail district of Bangladesh, and has become one of the most iconic Bengali sweets. The process begins with fresh chhana shaped into oval cylinders, boiled in sugar syrup until cooked through, and then soaked for hours to absorb sweetness evenly. Once drained, each piece is rolled in a thick coating of fresh malai (cream) and topped with crushed pistachio. The key to a good chomchom is the texture: it must be soft and pillowy, never rubbery or dense. At Noni Sweets, we use same-day chhana and cook each batch in small quantities to maintain consistency. Malai chomchom is a staple at Bengali festivals, family gatherings, and is often the first sweet offered to guests. Handmade daily at Noni Sweets, delivered fresh to Gulshan and Banani, Dhaka.
